What type of tape is used at the hull/deck joint on some rowing shells? From what I have seen some is cloth based, while another might be vinyl. Mine is starting to show some wear and tear and I would like to repair/patch those areas.
Thanks, Jack

Are you looking for Empacher Tape?
This is the stuff they use: Tesa 4651 Premium Cloth Tape
I bought some from these guys:
https://customtapes.com/products/tesa-4651-premium-quality-cloth-tape?_pos=1&_sid=1f1768e8d&_ss=r

Way cheaper than going through Empacher.

If you're looking for tape another manufacturer uses. I would suggest going on their website and finding a picture of the tape where you can see the inside of the roll. It usually says the product info there, and you can order direct vs. getting a markup.

Hope this helps!

Van Dusen Racing Boats uses 3M 471 tape. It comes in 8 colors and is used to hold down soft decking, protect the deck/hull seam as needed, or add a color accent.
In the USA you can order from Uline (3 roll minimum) or from Van Dusen (1 roll plus shipping).
